Portfolio of Jenny Humphrey

11_momsen_lglJenny Humphrey is the girl who keeps surprising. She started off as a “normal” girl from Brooklyn, with a lower-middle class family and household; and an artist of a father, Rufus. He was in a popular band and was trying to be an inspiring painter. His painting career didn’t work out so well though. Jenny’s mother walked out on them and cheated on Rufus when Jenny was a little girl. The spontaneous she gets from her mother and the creativeness she gets from her dad.

Jenny was always obsessed with fitting in with the Queen Bee’s of the Upper East Side’s Constance Billard School for Girls. She absolutely couldn’t shop at vintage stores, only Saks and Bendels. But, Blair being Blair, she sees right through her, paying no attention to Jenny, what-so-ever. When Serena (her former idol) and Dan (her brother) started going out, Serena started paying attention to her, but Blair always kept calling her “Little Jenny” and didn’t pay her any more respect then usual. Jenny ruined a lot of Blair’s opportunities; like especially with Nate.

When Jenny became obsessed with creating clothing, she was hired by Blair’s mother, Eleanor’s, clothing design company. She was so fanatical about starting her own line of clothes she walked out of school and her new job. Before this, she was continually walking out of her internship and was repeatedly getting “fired”. But her final walk out made her a run away from home. She was kicked out by her father for dropping out of school and there for tried to hide out where ever she could. Jenny then made a crashing appearance with some of her designs at a party Lily van der Woodsen was hosting. Meanwhile she and Nate were having a thing, but then that of course ended.

After screwing up with her family, friends, and education she went back to her home and promised her dad that she’d go back to school. Jenny kept her promise and from then on showed no interest with the Queen Bees of her private school. She became best friends with Eric van der Woodsen and his partner and didn’t get involved with the gossip world; of course she was still in the limelight along with Blair, Chuck, Nate, Serena, Dan, etc.

In the season finale of season two, Blair finally talked to Jenny as a person and even helped her become the new Queen Bee! Jenny’s only motivation to be the new ruler of the school was to change the whole system; wonder how that’s going to work out!

When she became someone that didn’t want to be in the middle of the gossip, I started liking her again. But when she made all the wrong decisions, she became my least favorite character. At the end though, I guess if she didn’t screw up, she wouldn’t have learned anything. But in return she did learn all her mistakes and is now the ruler!

I loved when she said the part about the headbands=].

Top 3 Relationships That Should Be

TOP THREE RELATIONSHIPS THAT SHOULD BE:

1. Nate Archibald and Vanessa Abrams.

2. Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey.

3. Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass.

Nate Archibald (who is played by Chase Crawford) is an extremely good looking teenager boy. With his golden brown hair and green, sparkling eyes; he gets a number of girls. His only serious relationship was with Blair Waldorf, which was continuously on and off. Vanessa Abrams is one of Dan Humphrey’s good friends who lives in Brooklyn. She and Dan always thought they were the perfect match but when Vanessa moved away to live in Vermont with her family, their relationship never went further then just friends. In season two of the TV series, Gossip Girl, the Upper East Side “hottie” and the aspiring filmmaker, with a personality the total opposite of anyone’s who went to the Constance Billard private school (which Nate went to), form a relationship. This all happened because of Jenny Humphrey’s immaturity and belief that she would make it on her own, driving her family and friends out of her life. Vanessa thought Jenny was being very dumb and Nate agreed. They went strong for a while, always hanging out. Until, Vanessa told Nate to reconnect with his family. And mostly his Grandfather, who ratted his thief and druggy of a father to the feds, sending him to prison. But after he did reunite with his family and went to one of the Vanderbilt’s (his family) party’s, he realized that he truly did “belong” with Blair Waldorf and no longer had strong feelings for Vanessa. At the party Blair was lonely and crying, so Nate came over and sought out what was wrong. They reconnected. He then took an internship that his grandfather offered him. But this internship was at the same time Vanessa and Nate were going on summer vacation together. She left the party and their relationship. Blair and Nate’s relationship for the millionth time didn’t work out. But just recently in the finale episode, Nate came to Vanessa and asked if he could go with her on her summer adventure; of course no physical or emotional connections there. ; ] GO NATE AND VANESSA!

Serena van der Woodsen ruled the Upper East Side with her best friend (Blair). She has an unclear history, involving drugs, alcohol, sex, and extreme mischievousness. She returned to her family and home, ready for a new, fresh start. Dan Humphrey lived in Brooklyn, New York, but went to the St. Jude’s School for boys (practically the same school as Serena). He fell for Serena since he first saw her at a party, at the age of 15. Dan was bullied by Chuck and everyone else, except Serena. So how does the blond, beauty fall for the poet writing, “misfit”? They were a pair for most of season one and since then they always were flirty with each other. They definitely have a special connection. I think the only thing standing in their way of each other is their parent’s relationship. Rufus and Lily have been in love since their early years and eventually, probably will get married; making S and Lonely Boy sister and brother. Awkward! They do belong together though. GO DAN AND SERENA!

Best for last; Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf! Chuck was the ultimate bad boy of the Upper East Side. He became a billionaire because of his father’s death. His best friend is Nate. Blair Waldorf is the absolute Queen Bee of the Upper East Side. Her best friend, through thick and thin, is Serena. Blair’s biggest idol is Audrey Hepburn. Blair and Chuck mastermind many revenge (and sometimes not) operations together. They first slept together when Blair was still going out with Nate, which caused some uncertainty in Chuck and Nate’s friendship. But they worked everything out because Nate knew Chuck really did love Blair. In the finale episode of GG they finally announce they love for each other (after times and times again, saying they didn’t). I got so excited and happy that they finally are together. They are completely made for each other! GO CHUCK AND BLAIR!!!! Best couple in the entire world. (Sorry this posting for Chuck and Blair is so short, but I think you can learn their relationship much better if you go directly to the show. Just because their bond it is so confusing.)

Tell me about what all of your opinions are! Let me know what you think will happen on summer vacation with Nate and Vanessa! I would also love to know what you think Dan and Serena would conclude with; be just friends? Tell the whole world (and their parents) that they deserve to be together more than their parent’s deserve to be? Tell me as well, what your opinion on who “should” be with whom, and who you think the all time best relationship on GG is! Thanks!

Gossip Girl’s Start

The all around actual Gossip Girl, is a nation wide kind of person. There are adults, teenagers, and children who can be one. This show is based on an unknown girl who lives somewhere in the state of New York, on the show there is only her voice, which acts as a narrator. She gets her information from a number of sources; whoever wants her to know something that’s going around, will send the information to the “Gossip Girl website”. Once there is breaking news on the site, it would send it to everybody’s cell phone. This creates chaos and extreme drama!

“What’s going on?”

“Check out Gossip Girl!”

The gossip is usually about the Upper East Side “teen queen bees” of New York City. This includes Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Dan Humphrey, Nate Archibald, Jenny Humphrey, and Chuck Bass (the spotlight characters at this moment). Lily van der Woodsen, who is Serena’s mother and Rufus Humphrey, who is Dan and Jenny’s father are also in a conflicted spot. All of these characters were based from the book series, Gossip Girl, written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Cecily von Ziegesar grew up in Manhattan and attended a Private School (like in the books and show). She first started writing the series in 2002 and was written for teenagers.

The books order: 1. Gossip Girl

2. You Know You Love Me

3. All I Want is Everything

4. Because I’m Worth It

5. I like it Like That

6. You’re the One That I Want

7. Nobody Does it Better

8. Nothing Can Keep Us Together

9. Only in Your Dreams

10. Would I Lie to You?

11. Don’t You Forget About Me

12. I Will Always Love You (Coming November 2009)

I personally do not like the books very much because the characters are so different, but still, check them out; you might like them (and if you have read them, tell me how you like them)! Warning: the books and show do not have the same stories and are much more “inappropriate” than the TV show.

This is the official website for the books: http://www.gossipgirl.net/. “Enter the Scandalous world of Gossip Girl: a world where everyone is gorgeous, everything is fabulous, and jealously and betrayal are everywhere you look.”

The TV show first broadcasted September 19, 2007, and into 2008, with a complete season, including eight-teen episodes. It is on season number two right now, but in less than a week is the season finale! Don’t miss it! And don’t worry, there will be a third season starting fall of 2009.

In the TV shoe Blake Lively plays Serena van der Woodsen; Leighton Meester plays Blair Waldorf; Penn Badgley plays Dan Humphrey; Chace Crawford plays Nate Archibald; Ed Westwick plays Chuck Bass; Taylor Momsen plays Jenny Humphrey; Kelly Rutherford plays Lily van der Woodsen; Matthew Settle plays Rufus Humphrey; and the voice of Gossip Girl is played by Kristen Bell.

Gossip Girl is aired on The CW channel.

“You know you love me. Xoxo. Gossip Girl.”

Xoxo.

Hiey, welcome!

Hi, my name is Riley! I am a freshy-fosh at a pretty cool school (hahaha). I’m located in the one and only, NorCal. I absolutely love it here and always take the nature, but city life for granted. I love horses, dogs, shopping, hanging out with my besties, playing golf and tennis, and horseback riding; but then my other “love” is (this might sound “lame”) the show Gossip Girl. I’m always up to watching the same episode more than a couple of times and if I miss the weekly showing of the new ones, I freak. What can I say, I’m addicted=].

I was first introduced to this show when I was visting my cousins, who were at that time obsessed with it. I remember the exact episode I watched, and fell in love right away. I was determined to watch more episodes from that time on. This was when the show just started; it has remained my “number one” TV show from then to now.

The characters in the show are amazing and extremely interesting. They are all so different and each have a story to them that pulls you in.

For more on Gossip Girl, check my blog! =].
